70-210mm supertest images: gulls.
Samsung NX20, 170-190mm, ~5m focus, 100ASA, auto WB, Av mode.
As bold and habituated to humans as the gulls that hang out on Conwy quayside are,
I wasn't too confident that a gull would stick around long enough to
allow me to get through all 6 lenses, and my first attempt ended in the flight of the subject after 3.
However this gull cooperated. Although I was concentrating focus on the eye and head, in practice this was the
part of the gull that moved the most as it eyeballed me, hopped around a bit and scoped for stray chips.
However focus looks ok on most of the shots. Light was right for the subject, sun judiciously cut by high cloud.
I consciously aimed for underexposure, in practice with no dark background and the gull the main point of exposure
that wasn't necessary. I ended up bumping the exposure ½ to 1 eV in LR3 on all the shots.
All the shots are cropped from 5472×3648 to 4800×3250, except for one of the VS1-kiron pics which is a little larger.
A sail on a yacht moored in the estuary kept blowing into shot for the VS1-komine pics.
