70-210mm supertest images: Conwy Castle Turret.
Swamsung NX20, 210mm, just short of infinity focus, 100ASA, auto WB, Av mode.
UPDATES: additional lenses included in this test:
- Tamron 26A SP 35-210mm f3.5-4.2. The other readily available adaptall x-210mm SP.
- Tamron 23A SP 60-300mm f3.5-5.4. One of the most reputable SP adaptalls with a 5x zoom range covering the same focal lengths.
- Tokina RMC 70-210mm f3.5. Tokinas own label precursor to the tokina VS1.
- Meyer-Optik Gorlitz 200mm f4 Orestegor. Classic east bloc preset prime.
- Takumar (Asahi Pentax) 200mm f3.5. Fastest of the 200mm takumars, also a preset.
- Pentax DAL 55-300mm f4-5.8. Although nominally the Pentax "consumer" TP zoom this lens is optically well regarded.
Note that I had to use the K5 with this lens, not the Samsung NX20, because it has no ring to manually change the aperture.
- (April 2017) Tamron adaptall-2 80-210mm f3.5-4 03A, 103A; and 70-210mm 46A. The popular "consumer" adaptalls.
- SMC Pentax FA 70-200mm f4-5.6 The F and FA zooms from the 1990's
tend not to be too highly regarded but you can see for yourself how this one compares.
- (May 2017) Vivitar superzooms from 1980's; early adaptall 80-250mm's; adaptall-2 104A 75-250mm; 1960's
tamron t-mount 200mm f6.3; adaptall-2 70-210mm 46A second example.
Taken from the south side. I set up the tripod in the shade of some trees.
The Samsung maintains pretty consistent white balance, only small adjustments were occasionally needed.
Other PP I did was spot removal, slight exposure adjust. Images were however cropped to 4700×3133pixels, this was to create
images that would more or less line up when viewed in the comparison windows.
Click on the thumbnail on the left or drag on the crops below to view different parts of the image.
Use the dropdowns to select the lenses, and the buttons below them to select the apertures for comparison.
Image sizes 3.5MB - 4.5MB, allow time to load.
